Although we only work on your feet and lower legs, where our therapists apply gentle pressure to the reflex points in your feet, this treatment eases tension in your whole body. Foot massage has been practised for centuries in many cultures, promoting health and well-being. Traditional Asian culture linked different parts of the body to different reflexology points in the feet – connecting, for example, the eyes to the second and third toes. The idea was that if you were suffering with, for example, a liver problem, it could be helped by massaging the inner side of the left foot. Today however, the practice involves applying pressure to all of the traditional reflexology points in the feet and lower legs. These points run along the so-called ‘sen’ energy lines (analogous to the ‘meridians’ in Chinese medicine). Our foot massage is perfect for tired, aching or swollen feet, and while we can’t promise miraculous cures, we can promise a relaxing experience.
